Mio Technology is thrilled to announce that the MiVue 238 won the prestigious Russian National “Product of the Year” award in the In-Car Recording System category at the 2012 Consumer Electronics and Photo Expo in Moscow.
This year marked the introduction of the In-Car Recording System category, making the April 12 announcement all the more special. Mio distinguished itself among the considerable competition this year. The award is a crowning achievement for a company that continues to stand out in both vehicle navigation and safety device markets in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Consumer Electronics and Photo Expo has been held annually in Moscow since 2004, and highlights the best in consumer electronics, photography, home appliances, computers and mobile technology. The expo attracts the attention of the IT professionals, consumers and tech media.
The Russian version of PC Magazine recently honored Mio by awarding the company its coveted 2011 Readers’ Choice Award for Service and Quality. The award was given in the category of “Automotive PND.”
The annual survey is conducted by PC Magazine’s editorial board, and more than 16,000 readers responded. The survey also included participation 620 different companies for 2011.
The poll covered consumer’ impressions of products and companies based on quality of products offered in the Russian market, as well as customer service. In addition to individual consumers, companies participating in the poll included retailers, distributors and resellers who assessed manufactureers based on the range of products offered, end-product quality, usability and customer service/support.
According to the survey results, Mio Technology came as close to being an “ideal company” as can be found on the Russian personal navigation device market. Consumers recognize the brand for both quality and reliability.

The Polish version of one of the world’s leading IT publications recently praised the Mio M610 GPS navigation device. The article posted on PC World’s Polish-language site praised the M610 for its affordable price and two years of free maps, among other highlights.
Mio satnav devices continue to win fans on the continent, in Central and Eastern Europe in particular, where gadget consumers seem to appreciate feature-rich devices that don’t break the bank. According to the reviewer, the M610 fits the bill by offering plenty of bang for the buck with detailed maps of 22 European countries, an easy-to-use window mount, and solid construction. He also gave positive marks for the device’s processing power and SmartRoutes feature, as well as speedy signal acquisition.
The M610’s one shortcoming for the reviewer was its lack of a traffic message channel (TMC) feature, but he noted its exclusion is expected on devices in this price range and is mitigated with SmartRoutes.
